Hi there! I'm a compassionate Registered Dietitian and the owner of Leg Up Nutrition™. I take a gentle non-diet and weight-neutral approach to my work, focusing on the "whole person" and their unique background and needs when providing care. I specialize in eating disorders / disordered eating, and am dedicated to helping adults and adolescents heal their relationships with food, their bodies, and themselves. My interest in nutrition began with my desire to improve my performance as a tri-sport athlete. While I experienced the positive impact that "eating well" could have on my sports performance, I also experienced the mental and physical consequences that could result from a diet that was “too healthy.” This inspired me to develop a more flexible and realistic relationship with (all) foods and movement, and to become a licensed health care provider in order to help others do the same! My personable and relatable, yet professional counseling style helps me connect with my clients in a genuine and effective way, ultimately allowing them to succeed in our work together.
Over the years, I have worked with 100s of adults and adolescents in the Greater Boston Area, and have dedicated 1000s of hours specifically working in eating disorder care. I have also worked at Simmons University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Army National Guard, the YMCA, led workshops on Intuitive Eating, spoken at large corporate events, and worked with numerous sports teams throughout Boston. I've also served as a board member through the Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND), and received my Masters and Undergraduate degrees in Nutrition from Simmons University in Boston.
Outside of work, I love taking care of my house plants and discovering the best cold brew. As a NASM-certified Group Fitness Instructor and Group Personal Training Specialist (GPTS), I enjoy creating a workout environment that is fun, empowering, and enjoyable for all.
"I believe that everyone deserves to have a more peaceful relationship with food and their bodies, and look forward to helping you get a Leg Up on yours!"
